For decades, Zeppelin has stood for competence in plant engineering and mechanical engineering. We serve customers from the classic mechanical and plant engineering sector, but also from the tank construction, pipeline construction, steel construction and bridge building sectors.

Our expertise in mechanical and plant engineering is firmly anchored in our processes through our parent company Zeppelin Systems. Here we work hand in hand and are ourselves service providers for all testing, calibration and measurement services at Zeppelin in-house. We are therefore very familiar with the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, the ASME Code, DIN EN 1090 for steel structures or other global standards.

Our customers appreciate our high competence as a DAkkS testing laboratory and DAkkS calibration laboratory accredited according to DIN EN 17025. All our testers are qualified in several procedures according to DIN EN 9712, many have an additional qualification according to ASTN-TC-1A.

Our trade would not be complete if our welding technology was not also qualified according to DIN EN ISO 3834. Here we have many special solutions in the area of contract welding or in the area of series production ready for you.

Many of our customers from the machine and plant construction industry are supported by our occupational health and safety in the sense of a comprehensive management system according to DIN EN 45001. In addition to solid and pragmatic basic support, we also offer comprehensive training, instruction and equipment testing - all from a single source.

Dye penetrant testing (PT)

Dye penetrant testing can be used as a so-called red-white test on all non-absorbent materials that have a defect open to the surface. As an easy-to-apply method, it is primarily used for mobile applications.

Magnetic particle inspection (MT)

Cracks or near-surface flaws located on ferromagnetic components can be detected with magnetic particle inspection. Depending on the size of the component to be inspected, a mobile magnetic yoke or solenoid coil is used.

X-ray testing (RT) film

X-ray testing is one of the oldest test methods for reliably detecting detect deeper volume defects with certainty. Depending on the nature of the of the component, the radiographic medium varies. Traditionally, the evaluation is carried out via X-ray film.

Even though the technical procedure for X-ray remains the same, digital storage media such as imaging plates have become increasingly popular in recent years. In addition to the recyclability of the films, the rapid availability of the images is a plus.

Ultrasonic testing (UT)

If the inner surface of a component is not accessible, ultrasonic testing is usually used to find defects. For example, aircraft structures can be inspected reliably or wall thickness measurements can be carried out on ships.

Leak Test (LT)

In order to detect the smallest leaks in vessels, tanks, heat exchangers or other plant components, helium is the preferred test gas for industrial leak detection.

Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)

Phased array ultrasonic testing uses phased array technology to visualize complex volume defects in a wide variety of materials. As a mature volume inspection method, PAUT is often a substitute for "radiant" X-ray inspection.

Endoscopy

Rigid or flexible endoscopes can be used for visual inspections in cavities and vessels that are difficult to see. The same applies to internal inspection of pipes and piping systems and other complex component geometries.
